False positive alerts happen when InfraBeacon reports downtime that is not really happening. Here are a few simple ways to reduce them.
Increase fault tolerance
Fault tolerance controls how many checks InfraBeacon runs before it sends an alert. A higher setting adds more retries, which helps ignore brief network glitches. It can also make real alerts arrive a little later. Try switching from Low to Medium or High if you see frequent false positives.
Increase check interval
A longer check interval gives your server more time between checks. If your site occasionally has brief hiccups, spreading checks further apart can reduce the chance of catching those moments.
Use "Any location" checking
Rather than a single location, let InfraBeacon check from any available location.
Check your server
Sometimes false positives point to real issues:
- Intermittent connectivity problems
- Server rate limiting or blocking monitoring IPs
- Firewall rules blocking certain regions
- DNS resolution issues
Review your recent checks to see if failures happen around the same locations or times.
