Information We Collect
InfraBeacon is a monitoring service for websites, servers, and visual changes. When you use it, we may collect:
- Account data: Your email address, account name, hashed password, and authentication records if you create an account or sign in with Google.
- Monitoring data: The hosts, URLs, monitor settings, alert email addresses, server metadata, and other configuration you add to run uptime, server, and regression monitoring.
- Monitoring results: Availability checks, response times, status history, regression captures, visual diffs, server telemetry, and alert history generated by the service.
- Support, analytics, and operational data: Logs, IP addresses, browser/session data, device and browser details, page activity, anonymised analytics, masked session replay/interaction data that may be collected by default, and messages you send us when using the site or contacting support.
- Billing data: Subscription, invoice, and payment status records from our billing providers. We do not store full payment card details on our own servers.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide monitoring, reporting, captures, alerts, account access, and support.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability.
- To use anonymised analytics to understand product usage, diagnose interface problems, and improve product workflows.
- To process prepaid billing, manage top-ups, and send transactional emails such as alerts, password resets, verification messages, and account notices.
Analytics and Session Replay
InfraBeacon gathers anonymised analytics by default using PostHog to understand product usage, investigate broken flows, and improve InfraBeacon. Session replay records interactions such as clicks, navigation, scrolling, and page state. We configure replay to mask or block sensitive form inputs, account content, report content, and areas likely to contain customer content such as captures, embedded reports, and charts.
PostHog may process technical data such as browser type, device information, approximate location derived from IP address, page URLs, referrers, event timestamps, and masked replay data. We do not use PostHog for behavioural advertising and we do not intentionally send your email address, payment card details, passwords, API tokens, or monitor secrets to PostHog.
Data Retention
We retain account and configuration data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for security, billing, or legal recordkeeping. Monitoring history and captures are retained according to the service configuration and plan limits in effect for your account, and may be deleted when monitors are removed, retention windows expire, or inactive free services are cleaned up.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party providers for infrastructure, email delivery, authentication, billing, analytics, and session replay. For example, Google may process sign-in data when you use Google login, Stripe processes payment information when you add prepaid credit, and PostHog EU Cloud processes anonymised analytics and masked replay data as a service provider. Those providers handle data under their own privacy terms and our service-provider arrangements where applicable.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar session mechanisms to keep you signed in, protect forms, and maintain account state. Analytics cookies or local storage may be used to support anonymised product analytics and masked session replay. We do not use the site to serve behavioural advertising.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect account and monitoring data. That includes access controls, session protections, private storage controls, and infrastructure-level storage protections where supported by the service configuration. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your Rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional privacy rights under laws such as the GDPR or UK data protection law. We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, billing, or legal compliance.
